Blackjack Side Bets

Blackjack Side Bets is a standard table game that is played with six decks of 52 cards and includes two most popular side bets: Perfect Pairs and 21+3. You can choose to play up to three Bet Places. The game begins once all the Side Bets are verified and paid.

SIDE BETS

If you set a bet in the betting area, you can also set one or both Side Bets for that betting area. It is not possible to set one or both Side Bets if you haven’t set a bet for the bet position.

Once all the bets are set, press the ‘Deal’ or ‘Repeat’ button, the game will draw a card for each bet position. When all the bet positions have a card, a card will be delivered to the Dealer position.

When all the bet positions and the Dealer position have one card, the second card will be delivered to all the ‘active’ bet positions and a covered card will be delivered to the Dealer position.

Once all the cards are drawn, the winning Side Bets will be verified, starting from the Perfect Pair set in the right bet place, followed by the 21+3 (at the same Bet Place). A pop-up message will display for every winning Side bet.

THE BLACKJACK GAME

To begin each round, place your bets in the Bet Places with the objective of winning money by creating card totals higher than those of the dealer’s hand but not exceeding 21 or by stopping at a total in the hope that the dealer will bust.

Your options are to “hit” (take a card), “stand” (end your turn and stop without taking a card), “double” (double your initial wager), or “split” (if the two cards have the same value, separate them to make two hands).

After you finish playing, the dealer’s hand is resolved by drawing cards until the hand achieves a total of 17 or higher (a dealer total of 17 including an ace valued as 11, also known as a “soft 17”). The dealer can double, but not after a split on Aces.

If the dealer busts (the hands value is bigger than 21), all remaining Bet Places hands win. If the dealer does not bust, each remaining bet wins if its hand is higher than the dealer’s and loses if it is lower. If you end up with the same hand value as the dealer (a “push”), you get your bet amount back.

INSURANCE

An Insurance feature is also available. If the dealer’s up-card is an ace, you can buy “insurance” against the dealer’s hand being ‘blackjack’. It costs 50% of your original wager and pays 2 to 1. If the dealer has a ‘blackjack’, the game ends and you break even on the hand.

How to play Blackjack Side Bets

As in all versions of Blackjack Side Bets, the aim of the game is to build a hand of cards as close in value to 21 as possible but without exceeding it and going bust. This version of the game is played with six decks of cards and you can play up to three hands simultaneously. To start a round simply place your chips on the table and the cards are dealt. You then have to choose whether to ‘Hit’ or ‘Stand’ for each active position and build your hands. You win a round as long as your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer’s is. The game also offers a number of other options including ‘Double’ (to double your bet), ‘Split’ (to split a hand containing identical cards into two separate hands), and ‘Insurance’ (if the dealer shows an Ace you can take out insurance against them having Blackjack). At the end of a round, you are paid out at 1:1 for winning hands while Blackjack is paid out at 3:2.

Perfect Pair Side Bets

This Blackjack Side Bets variant is special as it allows you to bet on the first two cards dealt to you forming a pair. You need to place the side bet at the start of a round by putting your chips on the ‘PP’ position on the table. There are three types of winning pairs: a Perfect Pair (two identical cards), a Black/Red Pair (two cards that have the same value but are from different colored suits) and a Colored Pair (two cards that have the same value and color). A Perfect Pair pays out at 30:1, a Colored Pair pays out at 10:1 and a Black/Red Pair pays out at 5:1.
